In the Middle School, the English program balances individual and group work, traditional assessments and multidisciplinary projects as well as skill building and creative endeavor. Our goal is not only to teach students to compose and support an argument, but also to instill the values that writing is a process and that thought, itself, is a pleasure.

About the Position

Grace Church School seeks an engaging English teacher for an immediate leave position, who loves teaching middle school students. The ideal candidate will help students grow their skills and foster their joy in reading, writing, and understanding the structure of language;  is committed to addressing social justice, diversity, equity, and anti-bias education;  will bring tools and strategies for differentiating instruction; will communicate effectively with students, families and colleagues; and will value professional growth.

• Teaching load would include teaching sections of fifth grade English
• Lead a fifth grade advisory
• Run a middle school club
• Other responsibilities include lunch duty, recess duty, and other supervisory duties.
• Familiarity with The Writing Revolution is a plus.

A bachelor’s degree and teaching experience are required
