Fr. Augustine Tolton Regional Catholic High School has an immediate opening for an English Teacher. A successful candidate is a practicing Catholic in good standing who can minister to students regardless of subject area or a teacher who, consistent with the Mission of Fr. Augustine Tolton Regional Catholic High School, promotes and teaches the Catholic faith as reasonably determined by the principal. Responsibilities:
- Teaches English classes grades 9 - 12
- Utilizes technology to impact student learning and increase communication
- Demonstrates support for the mission of Fr. Tolton Catholic High School by attitude, words, actions, and integrity
- Assists in maintaining discipline throughout the student body, in adherence to the Student Handbook
- Serves with parents, faculty, and student groups, as requested in advancing educational and related activities and objectives
- Possibility to sponsor, coach, or supervise extra-curricular activities
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Principal
Qualification:
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in English or related field
- State teaching licensure/certificate is preferred but not a hiring prerequisite
- Familiarity with Google Suite (Gmail, docs, sheets, etc), Google Classroom, and RenWeb/FACTS is preferred
- Understands the high school education culture and is able to interact professionally with students, faculty, and parents
- Ability to maintain professionalism in challenging situations
Physical Demands and other requirements:
- Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks such as computer keyboarding, writing, and reading
- Required to monitor students in a variety of locations including those with noise and activity
- Required to maintain composure and to communicate appropriately in words and actions
