Concord Academy, an independent college preparatory school for grades 9 through 12 located

in Concord, Massachusetts, has a teaching opening in its English Department during the spring semester (March 25, 2024-May 23, 2024). The position will be three-quarter time, with two sections of a curricular course and one section of an elective distributed across the second half of the spring semester.

We seek to appoint an experienced teacher in support of a strong and well-established English program. The successful candidate will value and explore opportunities to collaborate with colleagues and engage with a diverse community. They will design curriculum creatively, innovatively, and experimentally with a commitment to their self-development as a teacher.  We are looking for candidates with genuine enthusiasm for working with adolescents, curiosity about learning, and commitment to professional and personal growth. The ideal candidate will embrace a discussion-based approach to learning, encourage students as they grapple with challenging questions and readings, foster interpretation and communication skills, and facilitate the development of an informed, analytical, and persuasive writing style.

The courses to be covered are:

25 March - 23 May, 2024

11th/12th grade elective on comics as literature (1 section) 

9th grade English (2 sections) 

(Final grades and comments to be submitted by May 28, 2024)
