Position Title: ESL and ELA Teacher for Adults
Location: Bristol Township
Reports to: Director of English as a Second Language Programs
Status: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week for 52 weeks per year. Some flexibility of hours is permitted as periodic evening work is required.
Salary: $38,000.00 to $40,000.00 per year

Summary of job:
The ESL teacher is responsible for the instruction and assessment of adult second language learners. Teachers are expected to create and follow written, standards-based lesson plans. Periodic class observations are scheduled.
Responsibilities:
- Fulfills standard teachers' responsibilities, including but not limited to monitoring attendance, lesson planning, ESL instruction, student assessment, student coaching, and professional development,
- Participation in student orientation and registration each semester,
- Pre- and post- assessment of students using formal and informal instruments,
- Use of students’ assessments in program planning,
- Monitoring students’ Core and Secondary Goals,
- Written lesson plans addressing CASAS Competencies and College and Career Readiness Standards,
- Monitoring students’ use of and progress on required Supplemental Distance Learning,
- Ability to teach remotely when needed,
- Biweekly submission of student attendance and other paperwork as required by State guidelines,
- Communicates with program director and other staff,
- Satisfactorily completing all trainings and professional development activities approved by Vita guided by Vita’s In-house Professional Development Specialist,
- Supports the Assessment Specialist and schedules and administers paper- and computer-based placement and progress tests, in person and remotely as needed,
- Participates in staff, PIT, and coordinator meetings,
- Complies with Vita’s Employment Policy Manual and COVID Safety Plan,
- Executes other responsibilities as assigned.
