Woodward School is an independent, college preparatory, day school for girls in grades 6 – 12, located in Quincy, MA. We are seeking a part-time Middle School English Teacher for the 2023-2024 academic year and beyond. Classes are intentionally small providing opportunity to know every girl, and for every girl to be known. We are developing a strong partnership with parents to foster the best school community so that our students will reach their greatest potential in their preparation for college and life after Woodward.

Woodward seeks candidates who demonstrate strong content knowledge for teaching literature, academic and creative writing, grammar and, vocabulary, as well as speaking and presentation skills. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to differentiate instruction and assessment, to organize and manage the demands of the classroom, and to maintain positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues. Responsibilities will include advising, various other assigned duties as needed, as well an engaged presence in the school community and at school events. Candidates must have a strong desire and passion to teach in a single-sex girls school.

Ideal candidates will hold a bachelor’s degree in English, a master’s degree in education, and three years or more of middle school teaching experience preferred.
