The Peck School, a coed, K-8, independent school in Morristown, NJ, seeks a 5th Grade English Teacher for the coming year.  As part of our humanities program, this individual will continue the development of a curriculum driven by essential questions and grounded in the goal of developing strong reading, writing, and critical thinking skills.  The teacher will guide students through the writing process, providing support through verbal and written feedback. Through argument, analysis, creative expression, and reflection, students build a broad foundation to engage with their world, communicating with clarity and perspective.  A strong interest in curriculum design and the ability to orchestrate student-centered class discussions are a necessity.  Homeroom teaching experience is a plus, as this position bridges the elementary and middle school experience.  Opportunities for coaching and advising are also available. 

All candidates should have a minimum of three years of teaching experience, exceptional communication skills, proficiency with technology, and a desire to work in a highly collaborative environment.  A degree or background in English or Elementary Education is required.  Candidates must have a commitment to the educational goals, mission, and objectives of The Peck School.  A core belief at Peck is that our teachers are our most important asset.  Qualified applicants are offered top-tier pay, exceptionally strong benefits, and a robust professional development program.
