Cape Fear Academy Middle School is seeking an inspired English teacher, who deeply
understands and enjoys teaching 11-14-year olds, and has expertise in teaching the writing process, reading comprehension, grammar, and communication.

Teachers at Cape Fear Academy deliver high quality instruction that emphasizes critical

Middle School Classroom Teacher - English
Major Responsibilities:
1. Teach 5 total sections of English.
2. Serve as a faculty advisor to students.
3. Provide a range of instructional and assessment strategies to meet the needs of all students.
4. Collaborate with faculty members to create engaging lessons and a positive school culture.
5. Track student data and uphold high behavioral and academic expectations.
6. Provide tutoring to individual and small student groups as required.
7. Continuously communicate and build relationships with students and families.
8. Create an inviting and engaging classroom culture.
9. Perform other projects and duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
The Teacher should be experienced and knowledgeable in all levels of middle school English with a history of successful teaching methods. The Teacher should have an interest in and ability to contribute to extracurricular activities.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred
Experience:
Three or more years of teaching experience strongly preferred. The qualifications and experience teaching another subject in addition to English is a plus.
Equivalency:
Directly related experience or a combination of directly related education and experience may be considered in place of the above requirements.
