The Potomac School English Department seeks English teacher candidates for a potential vacancy in grades 9-12. Duties and Responsibilities: Manage course load including four classes and a student advisory. Plan, prepare and deliver lesson plans and instruction in a manner that facilitates active, student-centered learning using various teaching methods such as discussions, group activities, and occasional lectures. Work with students to encourage and facilitate each individual’s growth as writers. Teach the assigned curriculum, evaluate students’ progress, inform parents of progress. Keep attendance records; manage student behavior in classroom and maintain a positive educational environment for all students.
