- Conversational English:
Approximately 55 of our 132 foreign faculty teach Conversational English classes offered to Freshman and Sophomores. BA Degree Required. Every year we hire about 20 new Conversational English Faculty. If you come with a spouse, he/she may be able to teach one of these classes. Families encouraged to join our faculty! - Overview of Western Countries (combination of history, geography, and basic facts on the economy, judicial system, etc)

- Elective Courses (Conversational English teachers are encouraged to propose Spring semester elective content courses. Courses taught in the past include Western Philosophy, Servant Leadership, Worldviews, and Critical Thinking)
- 5 Primary School Openings:Â
SiasU operates a Chinese Primary school. The foreign faculty teaches English
and only needs to be there during the time they are teaching and can come and go when not teaching the class. In this position, there is less in-class Chinese language support. Each year another grade level is added to the primary school. In fall 2023 there will be grades 1-9. The Coordinator of International Operations (CIO) acts as a liaison between the Chinese administration and the international faculty on the SiasU campus.  The CIO leads, manages and facilitates the SiasU’ international faculty community, providing professional administrative leadership as the campus’ main international leader. Feb - April - Interviews and Job Offers. There are two interviews. The first interview provides the opportunity to share about your experiences and what motivates you to join Sias faculty, and to hear about various aspects of life at Sias and the process of joining the staff. The first interview will be with one of our international (probably American faculty). The second interview is with the department one would work in. The interviewer may ask questions about how one handles difficult students in the classroom or what experience one has with EFL students. The second interviewer will be a Chinese national.

June 1 - Email two recommendation letters for processing work visa (one letter emphasizing academic ability and the other emphasizing ability to serve, cross-cultural aptitude or to emphasize adaptability/heart of service leadership).

June 5 - Deadline to sign the employment offer letter.

July 1 - Deadline to send documents to Sias Visa staff (passport, authenticated diploma and medical clean bill of health paperwork).

July 1 - Deadline to email school a doctor's physical to testify of no contagious diseases.

July 1 - Those who do not have an English, TESOL, or Education degree need to complete a $200 online TESOL Certificate. It takes 1-3 weeks to complete.

August 1 - Latest departure date. Sias pays for plane tickets. Departure from an international airport. Domestic travel not covered by Sias.

August 7-14 - Teachers may likely be in quarantine at port city in China.

August 15-17 - Teachers in quarantine at Sias University.

August 18-25 - Culture Team with Teachers.

August 18-31 - Chinese Classes and New Teacher Orientation
